Backyard Road Trips in Singapore 2023
The project examines the visible societal division between Singaporeans and the migrant community by looking at the state’s urban planning. This can be seen through the observation of the locations of the migrant workers’ dormitories and their surroundings. These dormitories are often found in secluded areas and are isolated from the rest of society.
Backyard Road Trips is a series of photographs that offers a first-person perspective of the daily journey that many migrant workers take to return to their temporary home - the dormitory.
